Jaya fears funds will fall into LTTE hands

(November 02, Chennai, Sri Lanka Guardian) AIADMK supremo J Jayalalitha today alleged that the funds being raised by Chief Minister Karunanidhi might end up in the hands of LTTE.

In a statement here, the former Chief Minister said the people in Tamilnadu fear that the funds collected from them would be passed on to the banned terrorist organisation.

She noted that the Chief Minister was himself a sympathiser of the LTTE. Since the money would not reach the deserving people, she urged people not to be deceived by Karunanidhi’s move.

Jayalalithaa alleged that funds were being collected forcefully from the people and one day income of the workers was retained without their consent.

She said the Chief Minister, who tries to pose himself as a guardian of Tamil culture, had donated dresses like ‘nighties’ which degrade Tamil culture among the Sri Lankan Tamils instead of traditional dresses like sarees.

Pointing out that Karunanidhi’s wife Dayalu Ammal had donated Rs 5 lakh for the fund, Jayalalithaa wondered from where Dayalu got that amount, and asked whether she was paying income tax.
