(April 23, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) A special programme has been implemented to uplift the health condition of the civilians who have crossed over to the cleared areas from Puthumanthalan Safe Zone.
Issuing a communiqué, the Health Ministry says that this programme was launched as there is a risk of an epidemic breaking out amongst the civilians.
“As a precautionary measure, a special medical team from the Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry and a medical team from the Family Health Bureau will be sent to Vavuniya,” the Health Ministry said. -Sri Lanka Guardian
