Can a research assistant to a cabinet minister employed by the ministry of parliamentary affairs contest?EPDP Violates election laws!Fraud by Minister and false declaration.

(June 21, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Yoga Patkunarajah (the wife of Patkunarajah working in the Jaffna Municipal Council) a former teacher at Hindu College, Bambalapitiya who had a notorious record sought the assistance of Minister Douglas Devananda to secure a position in the Ministry of Education. The Minister then tried to appoint her with all his power but the honest Educationalist the Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Mr.Mohamed Thamby flatly refused the Minister and said that it was improper and not possible.
Later, due to the persistence of Yoya Patkunarajah, the Leader of the EPDP who holds a Cabinet Portfolio recommended her name to be appointed as his Research Assistant by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs.As his Research Assistant and as such is being paid by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs from July 2008.Yoga Patkunarajah is the sister in law of Sreeskandarajah-of Kala Traders the infamous sugar merchant who defrauded the State of taxes and revenue by importing white sugar having declared that he imported brown sugar. Sreeskandarajah was helped by a Tamil militant group known for its irregularities. Sreeskarandarajah was alleged to have been abducted but his family migrated to Australia having given the house at Gregory’s Road, Colombo-07 to Yoga Patkunarajah. Yoga Patkunarajah draws a Government salary and an additional package from the EPDP.
An attractive, twilight lady is the LadyBird of the EPDP high command. Yoga Patkunarajah has been chosen as the Mayoral candidate by the EPDP and the Leader of the Party has assured her that she can continue with her Government job in the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs and if at all anyone poses a problem, that “he will take care”. As to how the Leader of the EPDP would take care is very well known in Political and Government circles. What a flagrant violation of Mahinda Chinthana ,Uthuru Wasanthaya and the election Laws.
Sriskandarajah was abducted on July 20, 2008. He was NOT taken by EPDP. However, Douglas claimed that he could make Sri's release and got 6 million from Sri's wife. Nothing happened later be'cos Sri was in fact got killed 2/3 days later of his arrest.
I am surprised to learn that Sri's sister in law is trying to get back into Douggie's book now. May be there is a family feud which Douggie is taking advantage of it. Anyhow it is shame on Yoga to go to this extent.
This is the main problem of Sri Lankan politicians. They do not consider themselves as legislators. They think that they are elected professional brokers to find jobs in the govt service and other related matters. They do not know or they think that violating the rules of the civil administration is to their credit. This is something they emulate from Tamil Nadu politicians.
Finally it is the people who should teach a lesson to these politicians but I also do not know how to do that! Finally has all of our votes in his hand even though we are out of the country. He will make use of those on the day of elections.
