Conflict syndrome of a Foreign Minister and the three blind mice!

"The method by which the Ministry is managed is leading the entire organization to a situation of organizational collapse. The recent moves created conflict within the Minister’s office .All of this may lead to the collapse of Sri Lanka’s ability in the area of foreign policy.

(July 22, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Comedy of Errors, Dismissal of Diplomats with proven track record .The Three Blind Mice of Rohitha Bogollagama exploit the State! They are the Policy Advisors to the Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama employees at Diplomatic Division furious over what they see as questionable appointments, preparing to declare total collapse.

Three blind mice, three blind mice,
See how they run, see how they run,
They all ran after the farmer's wife,
Who cut off their tails with a carving knife,
Did you ever see such a thing in your life,
As three blind mice?

The origin of the 'tale' of Three blind mice!

The origin of the words to the Three blind mice rhyme are based in English history. The 'farmer's wife' refers to the daughter of King Henry VIII, Queen Mary I. Mary was a staunch Catholic and her violent persecution of Protestants led to the nickname of 'Bloody Mary'. The reference to 'farmer's wife' in Three blind mice refers to the massive estates which she, and her husband King Philip of Spain, possessed. The 'three blind mice' were three noblemen who adhered to the Protestant faith who were convicted of plotting against the Queen - she did not have them dismembered and blinded as inferred in Three blind mice - but she did have them burnt at the stake!

The immediate cause that prompted the planned action is the continuance of the Director General and other Board Members of the Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute for International Affairs & Strategic Studies- a typical error made by Foreign Minister Bogollagama. Minister Bogollagama has failed in his attempt to think of the detrimental image created by his appointments. A silly interlude! A Comic expedition. The comedy of errors, exploitation etc.

Recently, there was an article in the Sri Lanka Guardian regarding the Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute for International Affairs & Strategic Studies of a new division head. C.A.N.Perera the current Director General knows nothing of academic, research work and diplomacy. In addition to his present portfolio as the Director General of the LKIIASS , he is also the Chairman of SLECIC. He too travels at state expense. He and some board members are busy using the Centre Auditorium for political campaigns and not for the purpose the Auditorium was built. Staff attached to the LKIIASS stated that the man behind the political maneuvers and organization of meetings is none other than Dr.Jayatissa Da Costa , Attorney at Law and Chairman of the Public Utilities Commission and Board Member of the LKIIASS. Da Costa switches loyalties for his convenience like the swinging of limbs while he is on his feet unable to get a message across.

Three blind mice… see how they run..see how they run….an apt nursery rhyme would speak for itself.

Dr.Costa organizes all the political meetings by calling Lawyers to attend short time seminars on election campaigns at the LKIIASS or for cocktails and dinner parties at the Minister’s residence. Dr.Costa has taken full charge has to who is to be appointed where and how and who is to be sacked when and how- Although Costa has failed to be appointed a President’s Counsel and was awaiting the retirement of Former CJ Sarath Silva, he has been successful in becoming the Foreign Minister’s Counsel to convey a load of errors.

The third mouse is A.B.Lalith De Silva a man who loves to speak in sinhala to an English audience often making the Foreign Minister a fool. He is also the chairman and Managing Director of Asian International Hotel School, Nugegoda and travels widely with Minister Bogollagama.

"The method by which the Ministry is managed is leading the entire organization to a situation of organizational collapse. The recent moves created conflict within the Minister’s office .All of this may lead to the collapse of Sri Lanka’s ability in the area of foreign policy.
