(October 15, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) The group of visiting Indian parliamentarians from Tamil Nadu met with Opposition leader Ranil Wickremasinghe and several other opposition representatives at the Opposition leader's office yesterday.Alok Prasad, former Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka and the present Deputy National Security Advisor was also among those who met the opposition representatives.
The daughter of the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M. Karunanidhi, parliamentarian K. Kanimoli was also present at the occasion.
Although the delegation was asked a number of questions regarding their visit, the Indian MPs declined to respond observing that they would make a statement in Chennai that evening.
Their discussions with the Opposition leader, Ranil Wickremasinghe lasted for about 30 minutes.
Following the meeting, Mr. Wickremasinghe addressed the media along with MP Ravi Karunanayake and MP Mano Ganeshan.
