(October 28, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) At least 3000 university students are heading towards Temple Trees demanding the abolition of private universities, release of arrested students and several other demands.
Police is seen preparing to prevent them nearing the high security zone. Police spokesman DIG Nimal Mediwaka said that the police would be compelled to take preventive measures if the protest turns out to be uncontrollable.
With heavy traffic congestion prevailing in Colpetty, Town hall area, it is likely to be further disrupted later in the evening. -Sri Lanka Guardian
