(December 11, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) DIG CID Nandana Munasinghe confirmed that former Sunday Leader editor Lasantha Wickrematunge’s murder case was handed over to the CID, along with several other unsolved cases, following an order from new IGP Mahinda Balasuriya.
Munasinghe said members of the general public requested that certain unsolved incidents be investigated. The alleged assault and stabbing of Rivira editor Upali Tennekone has also been handed over to the CID, Munasinghe revealed. -Sri Lanka Guardian
