(January 07, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) “Only those leaders who have not had any education abroad have served the country well. They had not gone to foreign universities. Therefore they have not bowed to foreign powers. Mahinda Rajapakse is also is a person of that kind,” said Alle Gunawansa, a Buddhist monk who is the leader for National Protection at the Subarathi programme today(7th January). He went on to say that, “people who love the nation, according to him, was rural people but those who wear tie and coat and live in Colombo.”

The presenter of the programme was Wagira Jayawardene.

He spoke about the agreements arrived at between the opposition candidate and how the alliance was a threat to the national security. The government has refused to agree on these demands.

This new situation is far greater threat to the national security than that posed by LTTE and Pabakaran. According to him, the present agreement is a far more subtle threat.

The speaker went on to attack those who predict victory for Sarath Fonseka. These are work of anti-national NGOS that always do such things.

To those who predict victory for the opposition, he wished to remind them that the war victory was not won by any single person or group but the correct political leadership of the president. He wanted people to remember these things when making decisions about voting.

He said Sarath Nanda Silva, the former chief justice, who made a decision in Supreme Court to separate north and east is now talking about uniting these areas. This shows the success of the international conspiracy. This makes one to look back on the correctness of some decisions given in the courts in the past.

At one time officers of the intelligence services were killed. Now there is an attempt to expose these officers to danger. The international conspiracy is very powerful, he said. Even monks had been won over for them.

Telephone calls were carefully selected to arrange the propaganda.

He pleaded with people to act responsibility and to vote in such a way as not to be victims of a conspiracy.
