Goons of President’s son Namal Rajapaksa rape democratic activist in Sri Lanka

Mrs Anoma Fonseka yesterday visited a female party activist of the DNA who had been allegedly raped by UPFA supporters as she had given permission to put up an office in her premises in a southern province electorate. The victim has been hospitalised and a police complaint has been lodged.

(April 12, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) A female party activist of the JVP backed Democratic National Alliance was allegedly abducted from her house and raped by UPFA supporters as she had given permission to put up a DNA office in an electorate in the southern province.

The victim, a mother of two was abducted on the election day, raped and harassed before she had been dropped on the road side the same night.

Ms Anoma Fonseka visited the victim at a southern hospital yesterday and spoke to her.
A police complaint has been lodged in a southern police station, but media personnel have been told that there is no such complaint. However the complaint number is available with media personnel.

The victim had been earlier threatened by UPFA supporters not to allow the DNA to put a party office.
