Dayan Jayathilleka, : New Ambassador to France !

(October 13, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Sri Lanka’s former two non-career diplomats are to be given a second spell. They are Asitha Perera former Sri Lanka’s Ambassador to South Korea and Dayan Jayatilleka, former Permanent Representative and Ambassador at the Sri Lanka’s Permanent Mission in Switzerland. A spokesperson at the foreign affairs ministry stated that Asitha Perera served as an Ambassador to South Korea till August 2009 for three years and now he is again given a second spell to Italy from January 2011 as Sri Lanka’s Ambassador. He will be succeeding Hemantha Warnakulasuriya, a non-career diplomat, who will be completing his three year term by December 2010. Dayan Jayathilleka who served for three years as Sri Lankan Permanent Representative and Ambassador at the Sri Lanka’s Permanent Mission, Switzerland till 20th August, 2009 is now getting another chance to be Sri Lanka’s Ambassador to France from January 2011. He will be succeeding Lionel Fernando, a non-career diplomat who also will be completing his three year term in December 2010. Tell a Friend
