(October 16, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) The National list parliamentarian of the Democratic National Alliance ( DNA) Tiran Alles is said to be having secret talks with the ruling President’s Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP).

According to a reliable source, he has started a cold war with the DNA and at the same time is pursuing secret discussions with a President’s circle.

The source confirmed that Tiran Alles tried to contact the Defense Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa through Udaya Gammanpilya, the Minister of Western Provincial Council to engage in talks. But Gotabaya Rajapakse has refused to talk to him and had said that ‘he won’t talk to a man who has been spoilt by Mangala Samaraweera’ the former Foreign Minister who was sacked by the President Rajapakse.

Frustrated Tiran had contacted the President Rajapaksha through Thusahara Gunarathna, a journalist working with a Sinahalse daily based in Colombo.

Tiran Alles is businessman by profession. He was engaged as a go-between by the President Rajapaksa and allegedly carried an undisclosed sum to the LTTE during the presidential election in 2005 to use the LTTE’s dictates to prevent the Tamil people from voting. The controversial Tiran Alles soon became a foe of the controversial President.
