Manju’s so-called doctor, not even a homeopathy doctor

(October 25, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Sri Lanka Homeopathy Medical Association that the person who treated boxer Manju Wanniarachchi is not a homeopathy doctor and that there had been several complaints against Anura Mudannayake – the person who had treated the Commonwealth Games gold medallist.

Speaking to the media, the President of Sri Lanka Homeopathy Medical Association said there is no person by the name Anura Mudannayake registered as a homeopathy doctor in Sri Lanka. “A homeopathy doctor will never give vitamins even in oral form. In homeopathy medicine, we will never give a medicine in the form of an injection,” he added.

Following a complaint lodged by the boxer, Kurunegala Police recorded a lengthy statement from the controversial doctor identified as Anura Mudannayake, from whom most national level athletes have sought treatment, stating that he has a miraculous healing power.

Police have raided the medical centre of the doctor over the weekend and checked his qualifications. While admitting that he gave an injection to Wanniarachchi as a vitamin B supplement, the homeopathy doctor had initially claimed that he has a Sri Lankan medical degree - MBBS. But after being questioned thoroughly by the Police, the co-called doctor had claimed that he holds a medical degree from India. Tell a Friend
