MP Duminda Silva acquitted and discharged in rape case

(October 11, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) UPFA Parliamentarian Duminda Silva who was charged for rape of an underage girl was today acquitted and discharged by the Colombo High Court.

This was after the Attorney law for the victim informed court that they would not be proceeding with the case as the victim was going to mental depression over the incident and did not want to take in any further proceedings.
