Keerthi fears naming names but is happy to point the finger

(December 20, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) "If I mention his name he will make place me in danger," Mr. Keerthi Waranakulasooriya, a self-appointed defence columnist in the Divaina newspaper, told his collogues when they were asked about recent attacks on Mr. Nilantha Ilangamuwa, editor of the Sri Lanka Guardian, the Lanka News Web learns.

Mr. Keerthi Waranakulasooriya published a series of articles under the guise of 'defence columns' that targeted Mr. Nilantha Ilangamuwa and Mr. Chanadima Withanarchchi who is the editor of this web site.

The Lanka News web has learned that Mr. Keerthi Warnakulasooriya is a contributing writer to the Divaina daily, weekly newspapers and Minister Wimal Weerawanwasa’s shadow web site, which is widely referred to as the 'condom' web site.

In his column yesterday he once again attacked Mr. Ilangamuwa and reported that he is an agent Research & Analysis Wing (RAW) of the Indian government. The RAW is an external intelligence agency that reports to the Central Government in Neew Delhi. Waranakulasooriya claims that the RAW is funding Mr. Ilangamuwa's web site and that he is a traitor to the motherland and pro-terrorist.

Meanwhile, speaking to the Lanka News web Mr. Ilangamuwa refused all allegations as utter rubbish. Further he claimed that Waranakulasooriya did not translate the Sri Lanka Guardian articles accurately.

"One can't expect much more from a person like Mr. Waranakulasooriya," said Mr. Ilangamuwa.
