Paddy farmers unable to sell crops


( March 21, 2012, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Paddy farmers have been affected as the government has failed to purchase paddy at the certified price from farmers.

Farmers from various parts of the country have been complaining that they are unable to sell their paddy and as a result have been affected this season.

Farmers in Welioya were seen complaining to UNP members who were campaining for the local elections which were initially scheduled for March 24, but later postponed due to a court order.
