When to confiscate the arms from the chief minister's advisor and that of Moulana?

(October 03, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Last week during the opening ceremony of the Vocational Training Centre funded by the American Aid at Kaluwanchikudy, the Ambassador said that the standard of living of the people is to be raised, the Educational standard of students should be improved and for the foreign investors to come forward to invest in ventures here. The situation in the area should be brought to normally by confiscating or disarming the groups moving with arms in the area. The responsibility is on the Honorable president and the chief minister to do this. I spoke to the chief minister about this and he promised to co-operate fully to disarm the groups.

Not only in the East but this should be done to all the groups that handle arms in the whole of Sri Lanka and it is the wish of all. It is an ordinary and a needed one. But in the earlier period of the peace talks and during these periods the only motive of the L.T.T.E is to annihilate the other groups and kill them.

For the western countries inclusive of Norway supported the L.T.T.E and the focus was on disarming other groups and it was a condition laid down in the peace talks as well as they practically accelerated this by killing members of alien groups in order to be the sole masters of the scenario.

Now the situation has changed and L.T.T.E has been forced to confine in a small area and they are to resort guerilla tactics. They infiltrate the controlled areas by the Government and their aim is to kill the alien groups. This is a fact known to every body. Regards this, the approach by the American ambassador has revealed their dual play. On the one hand the handling of weapons by Tamil groups has become a matter of great concern. On the other hand the Member of Parliamentarians who are in the parliament, said to be the representative of the L.T.T.E also stress on this disarmament. Along with the president and the government supporters are of the opinion that confiscating arms from the Tamil groups is only possible after disarming the L.T.T.E. If not there is thereat to their lives.

The love for the post of chief minister, by Mr.Pilliyan is the only motive but he doesn't know how long he will hold the post and he struggling. It is openly seen last month Rahu was sent to India (Rahu, His Advisor) and he wanted to stick-on with India. This has become an open secret. In order to continue in the post he would do anything is the opinion of the American ambassador and he was trying to use Pillian against the Government, Pillian wish is to have his photograph published while meeting people of high ranks in the world political circle and he thirsts for these. He does not have much knowledge in political affairs as well as lack of fluency to talk in English. This has made it advantage for foreign dignitaries. He lacks knowledge to debate and forced to say yes, to all matters and nod his head to the time of others. This is confirmed well when he met the Canadian journalist "Ruward Wells" and it is known that the only the assistant to the chief minister gave answers to his questions and his article reveled this poor plight of the Chief Minister. Who is this Assistant? Is he a man with political knowledge? Has he been in an administrative service with good experience?

He had been living in Australia and he was deported back to Sri Lanka for an offence made to his wife. If he can speak English can be speak on political strategies. The chief minister is lacking good education I am only doing the administration, this is another person who boasts about himself. He is the man who was the media spokesman for T.M.V.P on its inception. Has he got any experience in political matters or even seen such things from a distance? Why all these hazards for the council which decades the fate of the people of the Eastern Province? The efficiency running in the Eastern province council should be hindered; it is the wish of L.T.T.E and it is going to be so. It seems to be very fast. The L.T.T.E knows that as long as Mr. Pilliyan is there the council will not develop. Because he was not in the front line fighters. He did not have even political experience while he was there. In 1989 in order to make the North East Provincial Council redundant, L.T.T.E paid a lot for it, not money but by the death of so many fighters. Now it is not he case they have injected into him the thirst for power.

When the president has allowed the use of weapons by the groups Pilliyan opinion that he has no interest in weapons show that he would do anything to hold on the post and be a traitor. The threat by L.T.T.E to the lives of the persons in the group and the call to secure arms to protect them is denied and he has thrown mud on the faces of the people in the groups. This is a hear burn among them. Mr.Pilliyan is moving safety in bullet proof vehicles and with protection. He has allowed his friends Rahu and Moulana to move with pistols in his complex but he has forgotten the others safety. Is he supporting the L.T.T.E in the background, Because of the T.M.V.Ps strength in the Eastern Province? Young boys and girls joining the L.T.T.E is barred as the post of chief minister, He is unavoidably agreeing to strength the hands of the L.T.T.E indirectly. Is there anything like that? It is the question now to be asked.
