(October 03, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) A meeting was held recently between Douglas Devananda, Minister of Social Services and Social Welfare, and Chairman of Special Task Committee of the Northern Province and Karuna Amman, the leader of Tamil Makkal Viduthalai Puligal Party (TMVP).
The meeting proceeded on a friendly tone, focusing deep and wide on the present political climate in the country.
The two parties also discussed at length how best they could work together on matters of public interest and to identify the other democratic forces for working in harmony with them for common good of the public.
The discussion was attended by Mr. V. Sivanandarajah, Baticaloa EPDP District organizer and Mr. K. Arumailingam, member of Baticaloa Municipal Council. - Sri Lanka Guardian
