Prabhakaran's body identified: Army spokesman

(May 19, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) The body of LTTE leader Velupillai Prabhakaran has been positively identified by the army, Military spokesman Birg. Udaya Nanayakkara said.

He said that the body had been located by the 53 Division and not in an ambulance as mentioned earlier in some of the media reports.

Gen. Sarath Fonseka said the body of the LTTE chief was found a short while ago today and not as reported yesterday that he died in an attempt to breach the army cordon.

Prabhakaran's body had a bullet wound in his temple and the top of his skull was blown off.

Subsequent DNA tests confirmed the body was that of Prabhakaran, the man who resorted to terrorism in the hope that he could carve out a separate state for the Tamils in Sri Lanka.

Why is the government telling us bullsh.t stories?
VP blew himself up in the lagoon on Sunday morning.
Left with only the upper part of his body which has been in Colombo since.

Those who promote violence have violent deaths. Let this be a lesson for all of us and all those who still think that they can get what they want by violence. Hope Prabakaran's violent death gets this message across to the LTTE sympathisers all around the world and hope they will think twice before the reach out for the guns again.
