Prof. Hoole says on the news published by the leader of Paramilitary and Minister of the Government Mr. Devananada : The police have never contacted me and this is further intimidation by Minister Devananda as he attempts to terrorize the Tamil people so as to intimidate those who may dare to speak up about him and his ignoble activities.
(July 30, Jaffna, Sri Lanka Guardian) Following an article on the EPDP General Secretary and Minister for Traditional Hand Industries and Small Industries Douglas Devananda by Professor Ratnajeevan H. Hoole in such manner as to cause scandal/defamation to Minister Devananda, the latter has recently filed a complaint at the Kayts Police Station.
Following this complaint, the police who took the legally required steps came searching for the professor. Later they made contact and it has come to be known that inquiries are to take place.

ஈழ மக்கள் ஜனநாயகக் கட்சியின் செயலாளர் நாயகமும் பாரம்பரிய கைத்தொழில்கள் மற்றும் சிறுதொழில் முயற்சி அபிவிருத்தி அமைச்சருமான டக்ளஸ் தேவானந்தா அவர்களுக்கு அவதூறு ஏற்படும் வகையில் பேராசிரியர் ரட்ணஜீவன் எச்.ஹல் இணையத்தளமொன்றிற்கு உண்மைக்குப் புறம்பான தகவல்களை வெளியிட்டமை தொடர்பில் அமைச்சர் டக்ளஸ் தேவானந்தா அவர்கள் ஊர்காவற்துறை பொலிஸ் நிலையத்தில் அண்மையில் முறைப்பாடு செய்திருந்தார்.
இம் முறைப்பாடு தொடர்பில் உரிய சட்டநடவடிக்கைகளை மேற்கொண்ட பொலிஸார் பேராசிரியரைத் தேடி வந்தனர். பின்னர் அவருடனான தொடர்பு கிடைத்ததையிட்டு மேற்படி முறைப்பாடு தொடர்பில் பேராசிரியரிடம் விசாரணை நடத்தப்படவுள்ளதாக
தெரியவருகிறது.
