Bishop Thiagarajah well recived by church & Community leaders




(November 20, Melbourne, Sri Lanka Guardian) The Rt. Rev. Dr. Daniel Thiagarajah, Bishop of Church of South India in Sri Lanka (Jaffna Diocese) is now visiting in Melbourne, Australia. The first day of his visit began with his meeting with the Archbishop of Melbourne Rt. Rev.Dr. Philip Freier in the Archbishop’s Chambers. Reverend Angela Tampiyappa and Christy Thiagarajah accompanied the Bishop. Also present with the Archbishop were the regional Bishops, Bishop Barbara Darling, Bishop Stephen Hale, and other Bishops

A luncheon meeting with the Multi Cultural Ministries team was held at the Uniting Church in Australia Head Office.

The afternoon meeting with the Moderator of the UCA the Rev. Jason Kioa was quite Impressive. Bishop Thiagarajah had discussion with him about the “CAP” programme the Jaffna Diocese has launched in the recent past. It is a programme to support the priests of the diocese. The Moderator has accepted bishop’s invitation to visit with the diocese soon.
